Ipsos Encyclopedia - Ad-hoc тестирование
Ad hoc - латинское выражение, означающее "в данном случае", "с этой целью" или "тогда, когда нужно", то есть решение конкретных специфичных задач
Definition
Ad hoc is a Latin phrase meaning "for this" or "as and when" required. It thus signifies a solution designed for a specific problem or task, a tailor-made solution.
Ad Hoc Research is specifically designed to address a particular problem or issue. Ad hoc research is usually conducted when there is insufficient existing information. It is usually specifically conducted for and funded by a single client company and the results are proprietary to the client.
The term is generally applied to single surveys which are designed as a "'once-off" rather than continuous on-going research. Ad-hoc research can either be custom designed or part of an omnibus survey.
It is also generally understood that the target audience of an ad hoc project had no previous contact with the interviewer or research institution on the particular subject. (It is possible that the same person can be interviewed at different times and on different subjects.)
